The Taiwan Pavilion serves to expand its connection at the Seoul Int\u2019l Book Fair, leading to close interactions and deeper cultural exchanges between the publishing industries in Taiwan and Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2b1b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Invited as the 2025 Seoul Int\u2019l Book Fair Guest of Honor, Taiwan Embraces a New Start for Friendly Cultural Exchange in Korea<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seeing that the Taiwan Pavilion and Taiwanese publications have received significant attention at the Seoul Book Int\u2019l Fair in recent years, the Korean Publishers Association, in the opening ceremony this year, announced that Taiwan will be the Guest of Honor country for the 2025 Seoul Int\u2019l Book Fair, marking the first GOH invitation for Taiwan. On behalf of Taiwanese publishers, Isabella Yunyi Wu, Chairperson of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation, expressed genuine gratitude for the collaboration and friendship with the Korean Publishers Association over the years. Wu also mentioned that, in the hope of marking a new start for Taiwan-Korea friendly cultural exchange, further details of the GOH event will be closely discussed with the Korean Publishers Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2b1b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>An Expanded Taiwan Pavilion to Showcase 336 Selected Books<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Located at Hall C, C17, the Taiwan Pavilion at 2024 Seoul Book Fair covers a total area of 72 square meters, featuring a dedicated display space showcasing 336 books from the original selections of &#8220;Books from Taiwan,&#8221; the Golden Tripod Awards, the Taiwan Literature Awards, the TiBE Book Prize, and books that have sold their rights in Korean language. Additionally, the &#8220;Books with Korean Sample Section&#8221;, presented by TAICCA, promotes Taiwanese publications with Korean sample translations, while the &#8220;Exhibitors Section&#8221; will see participation from 16 Taiwanese publishers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2b1b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exciting Activities at the Taiwan Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The activities at the Taiwan Pavilion have always attracted great attention. On the opening day of the Seoul Int\u2019l Book Fair, Wednesday, June 26th, the Taiwan Pavilion will host an opening party starting at 15:00. Aiming to strengthen exchanges among Taiwanese publishers and the international publishing industry, attending guests include Kuang-chung Liang, Representative at Taipei Mission in Korea; Yoon Chul-ho, Korean Publishers Association Chairman; Joo Iroo, CEO of the Seoul International Book Fair; Isabella Yunyi Wu, Chairperson of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation; Shu-Kuan Su, Assistant Director of Global Business Department at TAICCA, and many other international guests and professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On June 27 (Thursday) from 10:30 to 11:30 at Book Salon, Hall D1, the Taiwan Pavilion will present another event, &#8220;Taiwan, Right(s) Here&#8221;, to promote interest of the Korean publishing community in original Taiwanese works by sharing insights into the Taiwanese publishing industry. The discussion will be hosted by Jeeho Ryu, Vice President, Korean Publishers Association \/CEO, Bulkwang Publishing Co., Ltd, while panelists include Isabella Yunyi Wu, Chairperson of the Taipei Book Fair Foundation; Amy Ho, CEO of. CommonWealth Education and Media Co., Ltd.; and Shu-Kuan Su, Assistant Director of the Global Market Department of TAICCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On June 28 (Friday) from 13:00 to 15:30, a &#8220;Taiwan IP Pitching Stage &amp; Networking&#8221; will be held at Hotel Shilla Stay for proposals, negotiations, and tea exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2b1b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Renowned Illustrator Yi-Wen Huang to Impress the Korean Public with Cultural Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yi-Wen Huang, the recommended author at Taiwan Pavilion this year, has already won the hearts of Koreans with three picture books: &#8220;Once Upon A Time, There Was a Train Reaching to the Island&#8221; (ISBN: 9789862942918), &#8220;The Prince Who Hates Green Caterpillars&#8221; (ISBN: 9786263053687), and &#8220;Secret in the Zoo&#8221; (ISBN: 9789573293392). These titles have sold their Korean rights and are published by Seomdre, a Korean publisher. Thanks to the arrangements of Seomdre, readers and fans in Korea can meet Huang also outside the book fair.
