Taiwan Pavilion design earns FIL praises

Opened on Nov. 30, this year's Taiwan Pavilion was met with enthusiastic responses from the global showgoers, who were invariably impressed by its eye-catching bright yellow and magenta design. Although not included as a finalist in this year's best-designed stands, the pavilion won Director Schulz's highest praises and was rewarded with a special live performance by a mariachi (Mexican folk music band).

Showgoers were equally ecstatic about this year's feature on the Guji Guji author at the pavilion. Chen's signature work, the Spanish-language copyright of which was sold over a decade ago, is already a bestselling children's book in Mexico, Spain and other parts of the world. The author was greeted with warm welcome wherever he went during the event.

The picture book is expected to reach an even wider range of young Mexican readers going forward, for it has been selected by the Mexican government as a recommended title to primary schools around the nation.

Another area in which Taiwan exhibitors found success was the promotion of international rights sales. The Korean-language right to Because I Love You, represented by Taipei City-based Linking Publishing Company, was sold via the platform. It was among the most popular titles at this year's Taiwan Pavilion.
