TAIWAN NOW | The World Is Reading Taiwan, presented by the Taipei Book Fair Foundation at the 2026 Frankfurter Buchmesse, brings together five co-exhibitors representing the diversity and creative energy of Taiwan’s publishing landscape: China Times Publishing Company（時報文化出版企業股份有限公司）, Cité Publishing Group, The Third Business Division（城邦出版集團第三事業群）, Hsin Yi Publications（信誼基金出版社）, Indie Publishers Association of Taiwan（台灣獨立出版聯盟）, and Locus Publishing Company（大塊文化出版股份有限公司）.
Together, they present a broad spectrum of contemporary publishing from Taiwan, spanning literature, humanities, children’s books and picture books, comics and graphic novels, illustrated works, lifestyle, and independent publishing. Through a selection of titles available for international rights, the five co-exhibitors offer global publishing professionals an opportunity to discover new voices, stories, and creative works from Taiwan.

Founded in 1978, Hsin Yi Publications is Taiwan’s first publisher dedicated to picture books and children’s literature. In 1988, it established the Hsin Yi Picture Book Award to nurture local artists. Indie Publishers Association of Taiwan, established at the end of 2015, is a coalition of micro and independent publishers as well as individual creators in Taiwan. The association’s main mission is to promote independent publishing and cultivate a vibrant reading culture outside the mainstream book market.
Currently, the association brings together more than 40 publishing houses and several independent publishers, covering a wide range of genres and topics. Members are often small-scale teams or even one-person operations, and are characterized by their flexibility, creativity, and willingness to take risks with unconventional content.
